All roads led to the Butterfield Estate, Tullamore on Sunday August 10th for the 29th National
Simmental Championships. With a close to record number entered to contest the 15 Show Classes,
it was a day not to be missed.
Tasked with the job of adjudicating was Hazel McNee, from Dundee, Scotland. Hazel along with
her husband Robert and children Kate & Alan run the Finlarg Simmental Herd alongside a large
suckler and sheep enterprise. Hazel is no stranger to judging, having recently judged the Sterling
Bull Sale in October 2023 but this was her first trip to Southern Ireland to judge.
